Incredible cloisonne hummingbird in flight in light and emerald greens with a red head, purple wing accents, and gold plating. When I saw these I just had to have them - for myself, my family, my friends, and for you! The detail is exquisite. So beautiful you may very well want to hang them in a window or above a doorway all year! The perfect adornment for a hanging plant, too, or for making a mobile. The possibilities are endless.
Cloisonne' is an ancient metal working technique that involves painting a metal surface with layers of enamel and baking the piece between each layer. The enamel layers become very hard and almost glass-like. Finally, all exposed metal surfaces and lines are plated with gold to give additional highlights to the piece. It can take many days to create just one piece!
This beautiful hummingbird is roughly 2 3/4" across the wings and 2 1/8" from tip of the beak to tail. As these are handmade, please expect some variation in size.
