A wonderful outfit from 1959 for American Character’s tiny Betsy McCall doll. It is called On The Ice and consists of a red jersey top with tiny black braid trim at the neck, white felt circle skirt with an attached black patent cummerbund belt. The top closes in the back with two original square sewn snaps, the skirt closes with a single original sewn square snap. The white felt bonnet has red bias ties. The original oilcloth ice skates are pretty much perfect - shiny “silver” blades and no missing stitches. The white felt is in very good condition, soft and has no moth nibbles. In bright sunlight, there is a teeny extremely light tan spot on the side of the bonnet and one on the skirt but that is all I see! No missing stitches, the red jersey top is like new! The outfit has been on a doll so the skirt has not been folded or laid flat. I will pack it so that it will remain in the great shape that it is in currently! All is absolutely odor free and is a darling outfit for your American Character tiny Betsy McCall doll! This outfit can be seen on page 48 of the "Betsy McCall A Collector's Guide"by Marci Van Ausdall.
