It is a plant with climbing stems and leaves 2-10 cm long with peduncles 1-6 cm long, longer in the fruits. The calyx is pink with a pink to red crown, darker at the base. The fruit is a berry, tender and hairy, 2.5 cm long.

*The aerial part of the plant is rich in numerous substances: flavonoids, phenols, essential oils, which together are attributed with their sedative action.

*Used in cases of insomnia.

*Decreases blood pressure and heart rate.

*Used as a mild sedative and hypnotic.
