Description

We recently purchased a number of German Incense Smokers at the Estate Sale of a Women who went to visit family in the Erzgerbirge area of Germany, and passed away during the visit. A neighbor here in Florida was asked to liquidate the collection for the Estate. We had never seen these items before and were amazed at the beauty and detail of these Handcarved Pieces and purchased what was left of a collection of over 100+ pieces. We have researched these items to be able to properly list them. We are listing all as used since we have no boxes as they were thrown away before the Estate sale started. We do however see when removing the top and bottom which pieces were smoked and which do not look like they were smoked. The original collectors placed taped numbers on the bottom of many of their pieces. We have decided not to remove as the original label was getting ruined when we tried. Also many of the Labels have fallen of pieces as they were in a pile when we purchased. We were not sure which label went with which smoker so we will just list as such. We will also note what we think might be any missing attachments.

Here is what we learned about this/these Smokers:

We are not really sure about this Smoker. We think based on the hat and outfit that looks like a uniform, that he is a Palace Guard or a Parade Guard. The Stamp on the bottom says Hahnel Souvenir. This piece is in very good condition. As expected with all of these old pieces there are some areas that do show wear. Has been smoked, sits on the base but comes off very easily.
