She was launched as the GERA for Deutsch-Australische DG, Hamburg, completed in Feb. 1919 as BLURGERMEISTER SCHRODER for G.J.H. Siemers & Co., Hamburg. 1920 taken over by Britain as war reparation and renamed BOURNE for D.G. Pinney & Co, Sunderland. 1921 sold to the Netherlands and renamed BENNEKOM for NV Koninklijke Nederlandsche Stoomboat Mi (KNSM), Amsterdam.

She was a 5,998 GT ship.

She was sunk 31 Oct 1941 by U-96 in convoy.
