From WIKI

Man with a Movie Camera is an experimental 1929 Soviet silent documentary film, directed by Dziga Vertov, filmed by his brother Mikhail Kaufman, and edited by Vertov's wife Yelizaveta Svilova. Kaufman also appears as the eponymous Man of the film.

Part documentary and part cinematic art, this film follows a city in the 1920s Soviet Union throughout the day, from morning to night. Directed by Dziga Vertov, with a variety of complex and innovative camera shots, the film depicts scenes of ordinary daily life in Russia.

Man with a Movie Camera was largely dismissed upon its initial release; the work's fast cutting, self-reflexivity, and emphasis on form over content were all subjects of criticism. In the British Film Institute's 2012 Sight & Sound poll, however, film critics voted it the 8th greatest film ever madethe 9th greatest in the 2022 poll, and in 2014 it was named the best documentary of all time in the same magazine.

Here is a  really solid B & W 16mm print of the 1920s Russian documentary Man With A Movie Camera. This print projects well with a steady image and shows very good contrast and sharpness. Slight warp at the start of both reels and some splices at start of reel one. Some very light scratches, but mostly a print that projects very well.

Please see condition description above for more details. No vinegar smell. See frame scans for more details. Time to let some of my classics go.

Runs well through my Elmo and xenon Eiki projectors.

Print supplied on two reels.
