This guitar is collection ONLY.

Please do not bid unless you can collect the guitar from Wrexham, North Wales.

This is an extremely rare Martin acoustic owned from new.

Bought from Frailers, Runcorn in 1996.

I remember trying out the selection of Martin guitars available at the time...and this was the one that just felt and sounded amazing to play & looked stunning too. Overtime the tone and woods of this guitar have matured further to make it a delight to play. This guitar has that distinctive Martin dreadnought tone.

This guitar is in very good condition. There is only one slight cosmetic issue - it has a small  area of natural cracking in the finish/varnish along the binding edge/side of the guitar on the upper bout (see photos) but that is it in terms of cosmetic issues. This is also a common issue as a guitar ages. But it makes no difference at all to the playability of this rare collectable instrument.

Overall this guitar is in excellent playing condition with frets that only have minimal wear (see photo)  It has a straight low profile neck. The case is in good  condition with normal wear and use, but all latches function as designed. This guitar is 28 years old, has never been gigged. Just played and enjoyed in the house...it has been well looked after, reflecting the special guitar it is.

The Special Edition 16s were made by Martin Guitars beginning in 1996 with production mostly ending by 2000-2001.

This model features extra features such as an abalone pearl rosette, a D45 style  multi-colored back inlay strip, and gold hardware and special inlays (zoom in) on the fretboard and saddle which make this guitar stand out.

It is an absolute beauty of a guitar and everything a CF Martin guitar should be. These really are rare/collectable guitars.

These rarely come up for sale, and never in such great condition.
