An awesome piece of Hollywood and American history!
This pattern and style of bag was seen in the 1969 Faye Dunaway movie "A Place For Lovers"

The brand is Koret created by Russian Immigrant Richard Koret in 1929 in New York. Who is not to be confused with Russian Immigrant Joseph Koret who created Koret Of California in 1937.  Richard was known for creating bags of high quality craftsmanship with meticulous and innovative design. He found immediate success as his creations conquered Hollywood stars.

This item was used by a former insurance agent back in the 60s. So there is a bend on the side that opens up. It is currently being stored with stuffing to help punch it back out. 

Stands up on it's own.
