NOS 1965-73 Porsche 911 Hirschmann AUTA 4000 C 71 L Antenna - Factory Correct

If you're a Porsche geek like I am, then you know how it works when deciding what's "correct" for your car, especially with factory vs dealer installed items like air conditioning, radios, and antennas. In cases like this, what was installed at the factory was very often different from what was installed at the dealer. Case in point: antennas.

If you have a 1970-73 car with a dealer installed antenna, your car was almost certainly equipped when new with a Hirschmann Auta 4800 LS 18 antenna. If you have a 1965-68 car, it gets a little murkier but it's very likely a dealer installed antenna from these years was a Bosch blue tip (a holdover from the 365C years). But, if you have a 1965-73 911 with a FACTORY installed antenna, the ONLY correct antenna for your car is this one: The Auta 4000 C 71 L.

For some reason that nobody has eveb been able to explain, the Auta 4000 C 71 L has always been nearly impossible to find. At one time it was suspected that this model may have been a "factory only" model and not available for retail purchase. Clearly that's not the case (as this antenna proves) but it doesn't change the fact that you'll probably never see one of these. I've been collecting Porsches and buying/trading parts for two decades and I have owned exacit two of these. And only this one in NOS condition.

If you're restoring a perfect car, and your the kind of person who cares about the tiniest of details, then this is the antenna for you - you just won't find one better than this.

I've included multiple high-resolution photos showing the exact condition of this item.

I’m not a dealer and I don’t do this to make a living. I’m a collector who owns more than a dozen vintage Porsches and I spend a fair amount of my spare time hunting/buying/trading parts for these great cars. All of the parts I have listed on eBay were, at one time or another, purchased for one of my cars or were actually on one of my cars. Have parts for sale or trade? I have multiple cars undergoing restoration right now and I'm always interested in hard-to-find, early parts for 356's, 911's, and 912's. Thanks for looking.
