THE WHO - WHO's NEXT

Increasingly hard to find (especially in this condition) 1971 UK 1st press Who classic.

Year/Label : 1971 UK TRACK
Label number : 2408 102
Matrix numbers : 2408102 A//1, 2408102 B//2 420  (with "MG 12888" etched into side 1 runout)
Stampers :  1 2 1 0  /  1 1 2 5

Excellent plus (EX+) condition vinyl - gorgeous jet black sheen, flat, weighty and virtually unmarked! Close inspection under a bright light reveals just the occasional very, very faint paper scuff - obviously superficial and not impinging upon the terrific STEREO sound quality at all.  Excellent condition labels with a few small and very mild spindle trails on each and all silver text upon the matt black background remaining perfectly intact.  Non-laminated excellent (EX) condition original MacNeill Press outer sleeve. All colours, photos, text and art work remain impressively intact with no tears or rips, and no unwanted writing. Each edge remains firm with no scuffing at all, just a couple of tiny "nicks" on the 1st press "pinched ends" spine which itself remains firm with just a little of the usual linear buckling. All spine text is fully legible. There is a little rubbing on each corner, a couple of very light and non-obvious handling marks towards the front-side top edge and the occasional light handling/age/storage surface mark so not quite perfect, but certainly a solid "excellent" which in itself is remarkable for a sleeve that is 53 years old and known for it's fragility. The reverse side "Sleeve printed and made by..." text is another 1st press identifier, by virtue of this text being vertical rather than horizontal.  Excellent plus (EX+) STEREO audio quality with no skips, jumps, repeats, sticks, clicks, distortion or background interference. Tremendous, in fact, with wonderful tone and crystal clear dynamics and sound quality. What a brilliant album this still is - timeless rock!  Comes with poly-lined "PLASTIC BAGS CAN BE DANGEROUS" outer sleeve with no seam splits or tears, no top edge fraying, just a little creasing and some slight age discolouration towards the edges and remaining fully functional. I will ship the record in a new plain white poly-lined inner sleeve in order to protect the original.

And, finally, it comes with an original stub, in great condition with just a single vertical fold, from the Who's 19th October 1975 concert at The Granby Halls, Leicester, England venue. The perfect piece of memorabilia to accompany this wonderful LP - The Who at the very top of their game!
