Luang Phor Phat is a well-known monk in Thailand famous for his knowledge of magic and mantras and is renowned for producing some of the most highly sought after amulets in existence. Luang Phor Phat is the abbot of the Wat Tan Tahan temple also known as Huay Duan where he resides in the Nakhon Sawan province in central Thailand around 250 kilometres from Bangkok.
Venerable Phra Raja Mongkon Wachiracharaya (Luang Phor Phat) was born on May 12, 1922 (B.E. 2465) in Ban Sa Thalae, Tambon Yan Matsri, Phuyi Khiri District, Nakhon Sawan Province. His birth names were Boon Song and Pat Konkanthet, respectively. His father was Pho Phut and his mother was Mae Kaew Konkanthet. He was ordained as a Buddhist monk in 1946 (B.E. 2489) at Wat Sa Thalae with Phra Dhamma Trailokachan (Yod Akkavamso) of Wat Khao Kaew as his Upajjhaya, Luang Phu Kan of Wat Khao Kaew as his Kammawachara, and Phra Adhikan Chuo of Wat Sa Thalae as his Anusawanachara. He received the Pali name "Puññakāmo".
Luang Phor Phat inherited the teachings from Luang Phu Thet of Wat Sa Thalae, who received them from Luang Phu Deum of Wat Nong Pho, Luang Phu In of Wat Hang Nam Sakhon, Luang Phu Muek of Wat Sa Thalae (Luang Phu Phat's grandfather), and Luang Phu Mhod of Wat Khok Duea. Later, he went to study Metta practices with Luang Phu Chup of Wat Phra Borommathattung Yung in Uttaradit Province, and served as the abbot there for 6 years before returning to spend the Buddhist Lent at his birthplace, Wat Sa Thalae.
Subsequently, Luang Phor Phat's parents moved to work as farmers in Ban Huai Duan or Ban Than Thahan. The village headman at the time, Mr. Phon, invited the venerable monk to spend the Buddhist Lent and develop Wat Huai Duan since 1970 (B.E. 2513) until the present day. In 2021 (B.E. 2564), he received a royal fan in commemoration of the Royal Coronation Ceremony.
