Lovely Japanese bonsai tree sculpture handmade from glass and metal wire in a porcelain pot

This small sculpture of a weeping cherry tree dates from around the 1950s - 1960s and was originally owned by an older relative, who then passed it along to my mom. It is still in very good condition. The trunk and branches of the tree are made of metal and the glass leaves and glass flowers are attached by thin metal wires. The tree is mounted in white gravel (tiny white stones) that are attached in a pale green/blue porcelain bonsai pot. The sculpture measures about 9" tall and 8.5" wide.

The entire tree has been ultrasonically cleaned (to remove years of dust) and repaired to reattach some of the tiny parts that had detached over the years. I'm not sure if the tree originally had more green glass leaves and pink glass blossoms when it was first made, but it still looks beautiful as is. (Please note that the metal wires are very delicate, so it needs to be handled with care)

The bottom of the piece has an original green Made in Japan sticker. All of my items are stored in a smoke-free home, and packed carefully. Please contact me with any questions. Thanks for looking!
