A pair of original nineteenth century lithographs, published circa 1860.

Both depict titled images of trees and flowers that are mentioned in the bible. They were published in Glasgow as plates in 'The Illustrated National Family Bible with the Commentaries of Scott and Henry'. 

The first has illustrations of trees in their native landscapes, some with figures of that country below. The trees are Palm, Olive, Cypress, Chestnut, Cedar and Oak.  These surround eight central images of flowering herbs - Lentils, Myrhh, Cinnamon, Wormwood, Mustard, Cane, Cummin and Anise. 

The second has fourteen depictions of fruit and flowers including roses, pomegranate, almond, fig, vine, lily, mandrake and karob.

Both are in excellent original condition and are presented in grey card mounts with black wood frames. The mounts and frames are in excellent condition.

Glazed and ready to hang.

Each measures 35 x 26.5cm.
