Huge primitive hand forged butcher knife that is 17 and 1/2 inches long with a massive 12 1/2 inch carbon steel blade.

The handle looks like Oak but can't be sure. It has two ancient rivets holding the wood to the tang.

Possibly a Buffalo hunters or cooks knife during the Civil War but this is just a guess.

The blade is fairly thin which is similar to many knives that were traded to the Native Americans for furs and such......

Either way a very old massive knife in excellent condition.
