Manual overdrive (3 synchro) with wire wheels. I bought this car last year from the family of a deceased local garage proprietor who I had known for over 50 years. It had been in his possession for more than 30 years but hadn't been used for at least the last 10, having been stored in his warm, dry workshop where it has suffered several small dents and scratches. An extremely sound basis, it needed all sorts of work to put it back on the road, including a new petrol tank, sender and pump; work on the brakes; a new clutch; battery (now a single 12v); water pump etc. It now starts first time with excellent oil pressure and no smoke. Now that a new flexible clutch pipe has been fitted (previous one completely blocked) the transmission works just as it should and the car drives very well. Front and rear springs look new. The underside is in excellent shape and needs no welding. The body is very tidy, new front wings and valance fitted at some stage in the past, all front chrome looks new, rear bumper slightly less so, all 5 wheels excellent with very good Michelin tyres. The interior is also very good with original seats (one corner of the driver's seat chewed by vermin, as shown) and new carpets. The rear windows are opaque but the hood is otherwise very good. It even has a tow bar! The paintwork is, in places, quite awful unfortunately (the bonnet, for instance). Repainted many years ago in Tahiti Blue, it looks like there may have been water in the spray equipment so it is serviceable more than pretty. The only area of rust is in the forward lower sections of both back wings but the repair panels come with the car and the job is not pressing though cosmetically a little "challenging." (The original air filters, not in evidence in the photos, are also with the car as is a virtually new, top quality car cover). There is still work to be done on some of the electrics, eg indicators (dynamo, not alternator) and one day it will be a superb car.
