Here is a lovely Choice Crisp About Uncirculated American Revolution Continental Currency note for $6 dated May 9, 1776 This was the currency in circulation at the signing of the Declaration of Independence on July 4th.
 
Features super vignette of a beaver gnawing down a tree. Motto:PERSEVERANDO (By Perseverance) around.  The reverse shows a woodcut of buttercup  leaves (an anti-counterfeiting device), SIX DOLLARS at the top, and "PHILADELPHIA: PRINTED BY HALL and SELLERS. 1776." at bottom. 
 
Serial # 106420. Signed by Continental officials John Howard and Nicholas Garrison.

 "THE UNITED COLONIES/SIX DOLLARS" along top and bottom borders. "Continental Currency" along left and right borders.  It reads:

"SIX DOLLARS. THIS Bill entitles the Bearer to receive SIX SPANISH MILLED DOLLARS, or the Value thereof in GOLD or SILVER, according to a Resolution of CONGRESS, paffed at Philadelphia, MAY 9, 1776."
