In 1934 Cadbury launched a new line of Bourneville cocoa marketed directly at children.

With the strapline "A toy in every tin", Cadburys commissioned Ernest Alfred to design and Britain's Limited to manufacture,

a range of hollow cast lead figures which were given away in every tin of Children's Bournville Cocoa.

One Cococub was in every tin from 1934 to 1939.
