Anna Pavolva (born Anna Matveyevna Pavlova) was a Russian prima ballerina
of the late 19th and the early 20th centuries. 

She was a principal dancer with Sergei Diaghilev's Ballets Russes.

Most recognized for her creation of the role of the Dying Swan in 
Camille Saint-Saëns's Le Cygne from Le Carnaval des Animaux.
