WOW! WOW! WOW! This is one of the rarest finds of 2023.
A 70 year old Rembrandt "Atomic Blender" styled modernist lamp
complete with the pink, black and white paint splatter finish!
You simply can't find these wonderful Rembrandt lamps anymore!
Rembrandt billed their designs as "Rembrandt Lamps- Masterpieces"
and when the modern movement arrived, they were there in
a big way with lamps that were simply works of modern art!
Rembrandt lamps were so futuristic they were used
in episodes of Outer Limits and The Twilight Zone.
Set designers that needed props found Rembrandt's incredible
modernist lamps just the ticket!
This "Atomic Blender" design is named for the metal centerpiece
that resembles a turbine blade or a blender! It was
custom cast pieces like this that made these designs so special.
They were expensive new, and production was never as
high as their lesser quality competition. The result is that now
these lamps are becoming impossible finds. When the modern design
movement faltered in the mid-1960s, most of these lamps were
now simply too "outrageous" for their wealthy owners to keep
and so were replaced!
Now that brash mid century optimism and outrageousness makes them
even more wonderful than when they were new!
This one is in very fine vintage condition with all the expected patina
and minor blemishes time takes on metal, glass and enamel.
It truly is a modern miracle to find one this nice!
