Victorian Art Glass Overshot Water Pitcher

This pitcher is clear frosted or satin glass with a light coating of frit or pounded glass. This type of glass is sometimes called overshot. Northwood called it Granite Ware. This pitcher does not have the crackle finish that is seen in some overshot glass. The pitcher was most likely made by Northwood Glass at Martins Ferry, OH/Elwood City, PA around 1892. It is identified as Northwood in the EAPG data base.

The pitcher has a fracture just under the crimped edge and above the top of the handle. It appears stable but can be felt on the inside of the pitcher.  I've included lots of close-up photos to show the condition.  The pitcher is approximately 8 3/4" tall. It is still very nice-this is the only damage I find on the pitcher.
