A Large, heavy, unusual Soapstone Carving .

Late 19th Early 20th Century.


Carved from a creamy Yellow grey Soapstone the fish is carved in a fluid swimming pose with its mouth open. Tail arched up over its back. The lower fins allowing it to stand and display beautifully.


In antique condition, an old repair to the tail fin with chip to the tip of the fin. There are scratches, nicks, chip. Condition commensurate with the age. All great patina that adds to the beauty of this wonderful piece .


It measures approximately 26cm lenth x 14cm high x 5.5cm width. Wooden stands not included in this sale.
