This is a fantastic British made leather travel attache document
briefcase with Royal government connection. Likely produced in the 1940s
during the World War II era, these government issued cases were used by
royal secretaries and high level civil servants directly connected to
the King.
The top features an embossed royal cypher for King
George VI (reigned 1936-1952). There is a beautiful push button brass
locking front, unfortunately there is no key. Good used condition with
signs of wear, fading to the gold ink royal cypher, areas or
rubbing/losses, one small torn area on lower backing. Please review the
photos for further assessment. There are no maker's marks. Measures
15.75 inches wide, 11 inches high, 3 inches deep. This makes a great
decorator piece for a desk or shelf, a unique and fascinating piece of
history.
