Opal Aura is Clear Quartz which has been enhanced with a coating of Platinum.  The Platinum is 'washed' onto the Quartz using a special process of ion treatment, and the result is a combination of the properties of the two.  This process gives the Quartz a very beautiful, ephemeral pastel hue which has the luminous, multi-hued shades reminiscent of Opal.  Opal Aura combines the qualities of Clear Quartz with those of Platinum.
