I've spent a little time trying to find information on this. It might be Ox bone. I'm not sure, either way this is perhaps the most unique tape measure I have come across in my mom's collection. The patina and natural horn texture is stunning. The carving itself unique. Siren's distracting a ship perhaps.
A one of a kind piece of art and history. It is in excellent condition.
Diameter approx 1 3/4. Height also approx 1 3/4". It hangs on a long silky thread approx 23" long.
My personal favorite so far. Hand carved, It is a work of art.
