Following the 2021 Overstreet Guide to Grading Comics (6th Edition), we grade this as NM (9.4)! This item is nearly perfect with only minor visibles that keep it in, “no man’s land” between NM+ and NM-. There may be some minor feathering, but it doesn’t distract from the overall beauty of an otherwise higher-grade item. Item looks, “as if it was just purchased and read once or twice.” There may be subtle bindery or printing defects. Any bindery tears are less than 1/16”. The surface is flat with no surface wear. Inks are bright with high reflectivity and minimal fading. The cover is generally well centered and firmly secured to interior pages. Corners are cut square and sharp with slight blunting. There may be a bend of no more than 1/16” with no color break. No creases. Small, inconspicuous, lightly penciled, stamped, or inked arrival dates in unobtrusive locations. Apart from a slight spotting effect (foxing) usually at the edges, there is no soiling, staining or other discoloration. The spine is tight and flat with no spine roll or splits. The staples are original, generally centered and may have slight discoloration. No staple tears, almost no stress lines or rust migration. Paper is off-white to cream, supple, and fresh. No hint of acidity in the odor of the newsprint. No interior autographs or owner signatures. Centerfold is firmly secured. If there are any interior tears, they are slight.
