Thomas Locker (1937 - 2012): An American born illustrator who studied at the University of Chicago and American University before going on to teach at Franklin and Shimer Colleges. Locker is widely recognized for his romantic portraits of the Hudson River Valley, which won him many awards and recognitions through his career, including The New York Times Award. He also wrote and or illustrated 23 children's books. He often traveled to the settings of these books and those locations would become the subject for his dreamy paintings of nature. Today these works are featured in many prominent exhibitions across the globe where they attract critics and collectors alike.
