Hawkins' unique pressure-locked safety lid ensures that when pressure is applied inside the cooker, the lid is pressure-locked like a modern jetliner door. It cannot be opened until the pressure has fallen to a safe level.

The housing and the lid are made of 100 percent stainless steel. To ensure even heating, the base has a core made of 4.06 mm thick aluminum, which is placed between two stainless steel sheets. The base always stays flat, never bulges. Stainless steel stays bright, does not dig or corrode, is easy to clean and extremely hygienic. Can be safely used for light and deep fried frying, as well as for pressure cooking. Suitable for gas, electric, ceramic, halogen and induction hobs.
