2000 (W) Mercedes Benz CLK320 Cabriolet, Petrol, Automatic 3.2 litre, 6 cylinder

MOT December 2024. Has covered less than 100 miles since MOT test.

New battery, 4 year warranty.

Complete with AeroScreen for use with hood down. Also Car Cover for use with hood down, to keep car interior protected from weather.

Full set of original handbooks, plus file of papers with partial history.

I have owned the car for two years and it has been faultless. Car is totally original, with original Blaupunkt radio. Nothing has been modified or changed.
Electric seats, windows, aircon, - all work as they should. Mechanics of the car in good condition.

Electrically operated hood MUST be used regularly to keep in working condition. Over the winter it all stiffens up, and needs a couple of manual opens/closes to free it all up and get it working off the switch. Have just done that today. Also battery must be fully charged for roof to operate automatically. Done that after each of the last two winters.

For sale as buying a newer model CLK Cabriolet.

Car can be viewed in North Suffolk

Forgot to state I have 2 keys for vehicle. A number of people have asked about rust. The2020 MOT talks of an area of weakness on n/s/f inner wing beside ABS block. It then passed its MOT. This was under previous owner so I do not know what was done, but there is no obvious repair or signs of structural corrosion. That is the only mention of corrosion since 2016. External bodywork is largely rust free. O/s/f wheel arch shows surface corrosion on a couple of bits.

So there is no misunderstanding, the photographs on the ad were taken last week. The car has been off the road since last October, apart from going for its MOT test in December. Therefore the hood has only been opened, and then closed, once this year, and that was done manually. The correct spanner is in the car for releasing the metal hood cover, and also the window section of the hood. Last summer, and the summer before, when it was in regular use, I mostly kept the hood open and used a tonneau cover. However, on the few occasions that I closed it, it closed, and subsequently opened, quite happily using the power switch. All systems worked fine. The car will want some regular use, and the battery fully charged to its maximum capacity and I am sure the hood will operate perfectly satisfactorily.  There are loads of microswitches and interlock systems in the operation of the power hood and they do not like not being used.

Yesterday the car was viewed by a potential buyer. At that time I could not get the boot to open, and I noticed that the hood power switch is showing red. This means the interlock will not allow the boot to open. Previous experience says that a decent drive may "cure" this problem, if not then a Hood power system reset needs to be carried out. I had this last year and my local Merc specialist charged £80 to do the reset. The car is for sale "as it is" - with the additional info that I haver added, if any bidder wishes to cancel their bid then please do so. Please also note that I will not be available after Wednesday lunchtime, until next Sunday afternoon. If car is not sold before auction end and collected by Wednesday lunchtime then the next available opportunity to collect will be Sunday afternoon, or later.
