An original 1893 first edition copy of "The Importance of Being Earnest" by Oscar Wilde. This is the script for the play, published by Samuel French Limited. The opening night in 1895 marked the climax of Wilde's career but also his downfall, leading to his sentencing to two years imprisonment for homosexuality!

About 5" x 7", 88 pages, softcover, illustrated with set diagrams.  Good shape as shown with dog-earing and typical cover wear. "Foyle's Music Department" stamp on first inner page. The binding is tight, the pages are still supple, and there is no handwriting, tears or other damage.

An important and wonderful book, and a superb addition to any library. I ship every day the post office is open with your item safely packed the way it deserves to be. I always combine shipping and will refund back any overage when you buy multiple items. Please see my store for more museum quality artifacts.
