Here is another old mid-century sterling silver & turquoise bolo tie.
This beautiful vintage bolo tie sports a striking 1/2 inch turquoise cabochon that is framed in a shadowbox motif with sun rays emanating from the center. It is trapezoidal in shape and measures 2 inches along each of its longest edges. The back of the bolo slide features a silver "Bennett Pat. Pend. C-31" fastener...suggesting a 1957-1967 time of creation. When I acquired this bolo over 15 years ago, it had no cord or tips. I strung it a black rawhide cord and have worn it that way ever since.
Condition: Moderate patina. A few minor surface scratches. Cabochon is slightly loose in its setting, but not in danger of falling out. Rawhide cord is a bit worn, but in good useable condition.
Please take a close look at the many photos I have posted, they give a good protrayal of the quality and condition of this vintage mid-century example of Native American neckware.
