Salvaged form and antique (mid / early 20th Century) opticians trial lens set.


Gives very strong magnification. Marked +16

It is in good condition. Brass frame. Good clear unblemished glass; no chips no cracks. The glass is secure in the frame.

It has a jump ring attached to the little handle which would make it easy to attach to a cord, chain or lanyard to be worn as a pendant or kept on a fob in a pocket..

Useful for examining small details for example hallmarks on silver, jewellery, detailed craft work such as needlework or miniature painting, modelmaking. engineering, philately, antique repairs and restoration etc. 

It could also be used to read small print on something like a product labels but is not suitable for reading large amounts of print for a sustained period.

This item is NOT suitable for use as a monocle; it does not have the right sort of frame or lens. 

It is about 37mm in diameter.
