Issuing Bank :

Royal Bank of Scotland founded by the Royal Charter on 31 May 1727.  The new bank opened for business in Ship Close, Edinburgh in December 1727 and later began issuing its own banknotes, a practice that continues to this day.  On the first anniversary of its foundation, the bank invented the ‘overdraft’ and in 1783 they opened in Glasgow, their first branch outside of Edinburgh.

Uncirculated (UNC) mint. Direct from a bundle, personally collected from RBS. Most carefully handled. Note is clean and firm with an original, natural sheen. No discolouration. Corners are sharp and square, without any evidence of rounding, folding or bending. See photographs.

Special Feature :

Extremely rare. Highly collectable. First prefix "AA", low serial number of the first ever Polymer note issued by Royal Bank of Scotland. Error cut at bottom, right edge measures 66mm instead of 65mm.
