A 19th Century French striking mantel clock from Japy Freres, Paris c1860

This clock features; an alabaster stone case mounted in gilt metal with an urn finial, champleve medallions, Lion ring handles and six disc feet, time is displayed in Roman numerals and the movement runs for eight-days striking the hour and halves on a small bell. There is some light case wear, a historic repair to rear (see photo 14) otherwise in good condition and working order with matched serial numbered pendulum and winding key, as photographed.
