1918 WW1 KIA Killed In Action Death Plaque - 7th Battalion Cameron Highlanders DESCRIPTION This is an original full size 1918 WW1 KIA killed in action death plaque as shown. The plaque is named to Stanley Downs. I checked the CWG site and found only one person who died. Stanley Downs served in the 7th Battalion of the Cameron Highlanders. Stanley died on Wednesday 27th March 1918. There is no connection to the vendor so no further information (photos / papers etc) is available. More details about the battalion can be found on gutenberg.org/files/50301/50301-h/50301-h.htm#Page_111 CONDITION I will leave you to decide; please look at the photos carefully. I think the general condition is good collectable for the age. As you can see in the photos, there are user, handling and storage marks etc. There is polish on the bottom of the plaque, the look could be improved if this was removed. There is a top level chip close to the word "HE" on the left hand side. The fixing on the back can not be removed, it is attached very well and feels strong. I do not know when it was attached, it was done to display it, it looks an old fixing rather than a modern one. I am not an expert, large scans / pictures can be sent to assist you.
