I am now unwilling to send this overseas thanks to the current post Brexit customs and courier chaos so this is now for UK bidders ONLY!

Priced new at £106.25 in 1994 for the 2m long Flexibar S plus £30.66 for the clamp (FLEX2MRC5x100x1, no. 552950 is the current version at over £500.00!)
NB: Scrap bright copper price today is hovering around £7.44/kg and this listing contains 7.5Kg of easy to remove high grade copper so would bring around £55.00 at the local scrap yard so I have revised the start price of this listing due to the roaring price increase of copper at about 50% increasing every year over the last two years!

Ideal for tight bends in panels as it's insulated, saving lots of wasted copper and expense and requiring less volume than a conventional rigid busbar setup plus allowing thermal expansion. (See the catalogue link below for more on all this). It has a much lower skin effect than conventional cables as well which is useful when passing higher than mains frequency currents through it as the voltage drop is measurably reduced at audio frequencies even, this and it's flexibility being the reasons that I selected it for the custom test system build detailed below.

This is a new old stock (NOS) ERICO make PVC insulated, laminar bus bar of very high flexibility for it's current rating with a 105 deg.C maximum operating temperature usage, a 600v AC voltage capability and a continuous current handling capacity of 1,250 amps RMS at 25 deg.C and it's suitable for panel wiring and power circuits where tight bends are required or room is limited for standard rigid bus bar routing and it comes with a matching ERICO heavy gauge steel joining clamp type SB100 (part no. 501786).
The build of the bar is 5 off 100mm wide x 1 mm thick high grade copper laminates within a tough sheath and so it's relatively easy to form, even into tight bends, with the laminations fairly easy to move within the vinyl sheath if required.

A data sheet is available here (later version):
https://web.archive.org/web/20050127020106/http://www.erico.com/public/library/Panelboard/flexibarinfo.pdf

This flexible bus bar length was left over after the build of a constant AC current, variable frequency 1,000a RMS AC current capable production tester for LEM-Heme Ltd which was required by them to accurately validate their Hall-effect current sensors over the 1a to 1,000a AC range over 40-400Hz and because that unit was based upon a 19" format equipment rack it needed a special conductor to negotiate the tight interior dimensions whilst handling the high currents, which a comparable "flexible" cable could not.
This listing is for a 1.66 m length cut from a standard 2m length.

It's also ideal for fitting between long lengths of standard rigid bus bars to allow for heat expansion due to the current flow heating up the copper.

I only have the one and although it's very heavy and cumbersome when loose, it can be safely rolled for shipping into a stout carton which I happen to have.

The images define the one I am selling and I have also added a couple showing the inside of the *equipment into which I designed it to show how it was used to carry the up to 1,000 amps output current from the huge transconductance amplifier's output transformer up to the units under test (UUT) jig assembly. (*Obviously this bespoke equipment is NOT included in the sale! - it is just to illustrate how useful this stuff is to a panel builder.)
There are more images of it being used in the catalogue link below.

I am starting this bar at only £99.50, under 20% of the cost of the current list price at over £500.00 for the 2m flexible bus bar and £54.00 for the clamp.
This is the lowest price for unused Flexibar anywhere on ebay! AND it includes one of their expensive joining clamps don't forget.....

Please ask me if you have any technical questions on this item.

Overseas members are welcome to bid, provided they message me before bidding to confirm
a) that they are fully aware of the very high cost of posting this item overseas,
b) that they will pay the postal costs should they win the auction OR
c) travel to the UK to collect in person.
I will delete any overseas bids from members who have failed to comply with this simple request, which is in the interest of both parties after all!

SHIPPING ESTIMATES: (Cash on collection in person is OK)

Home delivery - T
o UK zone 1 "non remote area" post codes this is cheapest via UPS 3-5 day courier at £12.50 (to the Highlands and Islands or Northern Ireland it will be cheapest via Hermes at £16.00)

I am no longer willing to send this overseas

I will only send this insured, in this case to £90.00 final bid value (FBV), and by a means requiring a signature on delivery - see more on this below. Please realise that additional insurance will be payable if the FBV goes above £90.00

No packing charges are added; you just pay what I pay to send it!

The small print, but please read it!

NB: This item may be picked up in person, otherwise it will be despatched securely, via a tracked and insured service only, so it will need to be signed for at the delivery address. I will not send it to a PO box, or care of a business address without written acceptance of your liability for loss, theft or damage; the registered address for your accounts within both eBay and PayPal must tally exactly with each other and be the same as the delivery address.

Carriage charges, where indicated, are for UK (zone 1) post codes only. If you are in other zones or are an overseas bidder, you can get an estimate of shipping costs by checking online.

Payment may be by Pay Pal/cheque/postal order/bank transfer or with real money if collecting in person, but please note that I do wait 12 working days before posting items against cheques and 8 against bank transfers on the advice of my bank; PayPal payments ensure prompt postage.

Please confirm your full address when completing the transaction via the eBay and PayPal message system to avoid delays on despatch and supply a landline or mobile telephone number or both; I now fully check identifies and addresses before sending items because of fraud attempts and courier booking requires the telephone number.

I now also reserve the right to cancel a bid from anyone with zero or very low/bad feedback; if you are in this situation, you must provide me with your full details by e-mail prior to bidding to avoid this action, and please remember that this auction is in £ Sterling (GBP) and not $ US or Euros or whatever!
You can also forget it if you think I will fall for money laundering attempts.
All attempts at fraud or deception will be reported and the perpetrator blocked at once!

I will immediately cancel the bids of anyone who has only just joined eBay, (please ask before you bid!), or is bidding from Cambodia or Nigeria, etc. and this includes any winning bids placed at the last second; sorry, but I am fed up with losing fees that eBay will not refund!
