This lovely, uniquely shaped, hand-painted Royal Bonn porcelain vase showcases an intricate, repeating Art Nouveau floral design. It stands approximately 12 1/2" tall and 8 3/4" wide, making it a perfect statement piece for any room. Royal Bonn ceramics was founded in 1836 by Franz Anton Mehlem and produced high quality works both in porcelain and earthenware. Around 1890 the factory produced a series of finely hand painted pieces in the Old Dutch style and emulating the designs of renowned Dutch makers, Rozenburg. I believe this piece to be from that era. The multi-color floral and nature theme will add a touch of elegance and charm to any decor. It is signed and has a hand painted back stamp, indicating its originality and authenticity. It has a faint circular 1/2" stamp on the bottom which I believe is a letter M surrounded by Franz Anton Mehlem, Bonn and perhaps more indiscernible copy. Also the number 8 and 2562 are stamped. Its glossy finish and 5 lbs. weight make it a sturdy, one of a kind and decorative piece of pottery. Excellent condition with no chips or cracks.
