This art is from a story created by the original creative team of Ellis, Hitch and Neary for the Wildstorm 25 anniversary HC anthology released in 2017, which was then included in the large format Absolute & omnibus editions of the first 12 issues of the groundbreaking series. This was also featured in the recently published Wildstorm 30th Anniversary Special.
A superhero team for a new age taking down bastards by any means necessary. The first of its kind, this series took a “widescreen“ approach to the visuals of the Authority, truly fusing cinematic pacing and visualization to its layouts.
A fantastic action sequence as only Hitch can draw. The Midnighter and Jenny Sparks are prominently featured taking these Day of the Triffids knockoffs head-on. The Engineer is in panel one firing on the aliens.
