This is a refurbished model, the board is a genuine AGB-001 modded to allow the display, which is a genuine AGS-101. There is no brightness control on this specific unit, it may be something you can add yourself in the future if you are savvy with retro-mods. The internal shell of the battery compartment had to be removed to allow for the display to fit - this has no impact on performance or playability of the device.
