PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Adolphe Sax, the inventor of the saxophone, should be well known to everyone here; his name was the first to grace the instruments that would eventually dominate the jazz world. This instrument is a fairly late one, manufactured after the Selmer company had purchased Sax's workshop but was still making instruments with the Sax name. They are terrific players with an unmistakable sound.

This instrument is in very good condition. Lacquer is pretty much all gone. Has a gorgeous early Selmer sound, Pads and action have just been regulated in the shop, and this instrument roasts!

Provenance: The Historic Collection. This is from the collection of a well-known researcher and historian of woodwinds who spent a lifetime collecting rare and unique instruments. We are privileged to offer items from this collection for sale.
