Precious and Pretty, this diminutive lady's Elgin wristwatch is a lovely example of Art Deco design. A 14 Karat White Solid Gold rectangular case is engraved with stylized blossoms overlaid with Black Enamel and surrounds an oval crystal housing a classic original white dial.   Period continuous wire lugs, side case engraving. a hinged case and glue-on band, earmarks of wristwatches of the 20's. complete the design.

The watch was made by Elgin Watch Company, USA, in the Art Deco 1920's when women began wearing wristwatches, usually tiny and delicate but housing  a good manual-wind movement.  

This case is 1 inch long (1 1/4 inch with lugs) by 5/8 inch wide.  Case of solid white gold is #100934, and engraved inside:  M.L.HENNING INC./JM/ 14K/ CASED AND MADE FOR ELGIN WATCH CO.   Dial is Original, white. signed ELGIN with black Arabic numbers and details, and screwed onto the movement.  (Dial soiled from age but original and untouched.).   

Movement is engraved:  15 Jewels/#337134483 / Elgin USA. Runs well, serviced.    Fitted with a 10 mm Hirsch Velour old-stock vintage glue-on band.
