Sony DVD Recorder RDR GX7 DV Digital 8 To Disc VIDEOPLUS+ and remote control

Bought this off a fellow Ebayer, as fully working, unfortunately, it is NOT.

The machine throws up "Disc Error", and will not play DVDs, however, it does play CDs perfectly.

I have cleaned the lens with a special lens cleaning disc, but the result is still the same.

The remote control works just fine, in fact, I took a great deal of care to clean it, before I tested the recorder.

Selling this as very much "for parts or not working", as it does NOT play DVD discs, most likely an issue with the lens/diode.

Please only purchase this if you want to "tackle a repair",  or enjoy a challenge.

This is being sold as, "for parts or not working",  I don't want the next buyer to feel that they have been mis-sold, like I have been (apparently the original seller has left the country), probably one way to avoid paying back LOL.

I have not tried recording on it, I just tried to play the discs.

The unit is is good condition, but does have scratches on top, I have tried to show them best I can.

The buyer will get a recorder, and remote control, there is no power lead "figure 8" type.
