1993 Mercedes-Benz W201 190 LE 1.8 Automatic

Apologies for the long advert but I've known this car for 14/15 years so there's a lot to write, so bear with me. I'm reluctantly selling due to pressure of space and another classic Mercedes coming my way. I won't go on about great the build quality is on these 80/90's 201's as I'm sure your well aware just from reading the adverts!

Metallic Rosso Red with Mushroom leather interior.

Supplied new by Lark Valley Mercedes-Benz (Bury St Edmunds). Showing 4 previous owners but really only two as I've owned it twice and my father once before. It's spent all its life in East Anglia!

Owned by myself and my father since October 2009 and used daily for the first few years, however the last 5/6 years only used for fun and always garaged. Kept dry and undercover during the winter months.

Two lever-arch files full of service history, original brochure, original bill of sale, even the corrospondence from the first owner and the supplying dealership before the car was ordered (the first owner part exchanged another 190 in for this one!).

I have three keys including the original valet key, one still in it's original leather key pouch.

When I first bought it I had genuine Mercedes-Benz Sportline springs fitted as I think they give a great stance without being too low. I also fitted refurbished 15-hole Sportline alloy wheels and Sportline badging.

Service history wise like I say is massive, I don't have a service book but do have EVERY SINGLE SERVICE INVOICE FROM NEW, originally all from the supplying dealer, thereafter the Mercedes-Benz specialist who still looks after her to this day!

In 2017 at 118,280 miles the head gasket was replaced (a common issue on the 1.8's).

I spent some time working for Mercedes-Benz so lots was done (always using genuine parts) including new battery tray, new under bonnet padding, new grill and inserts, gearbox service, diff service, sunroof lubrication, all new flexi hoses etc etc. Basically anything it's ever needed it's had. The underside was also waxoyled at the same time and is still in great condition.

Most recently it's had the following:
- May 2023, 127,275 miles - Service (oil/oil filter, air filter, spark plugs and for NEW UNIROYAL RAIN SPORT 5 tyres)
- June 2023, 127,436 miles - replacement rocker cover gasket, thermostat, thermostat housing and some rubber pipework
- April 2024, 128,518 miles - Service (oil/oil filter)

Also in April I had a Bremen Blaupunkt SQR46 DAB radio installed so you can stream music/calls from your phone. These retail at around £400 on their own and look like a period fitment. The Hirsh aerial has also been replaced in the last few years.

There is some diff wine but this is common on 190's and has not gotten any worse in my ownership.

The drivers seat has a rip in the centre and the bolster, ideally in need of repair.

Slight bubbling to nearside front wing but only very minor. There are some other marks but overall in great original condition for it's age!

The MOT runs til 6th August 2024 but I'd be happy to put 12 months on for any potential buyer.

I am still using the car occasionally so the mileage may creep up slightly. Current mileage is 128,764.

I've probably forgot lots so best to come and view.

I've personally had 20+ Mercedes over the last 10/15 years and this one has always stuck around but now is finally the time to move her on to a new owner.

Car is located just outside Ely, Cambridgeshire.

Any questions please ask, viewings welcome!
