Brass Figurine of "Trusty Servant, Winchester" 9cm high, and sits on a base just under 5cm in diameter.

A mural painting at one of Englands oldest Public Schools - Winchester College, known as "The trusty servant", was devised by John Hoskins in 1579.  It is called an Hircocervus, based on a pigs head has ass's ears and a pigs nose and deers feet.  The rest of the figure is human.  He stands erect, and holds up his right hand open. In his left he carries the implements of various service, viz. a brush, a prong, a currycomb, and something else. He is clothed in a full-dress livery coat, is girded with a sword, and on his left arm he bears a shield.

Lovely rare piece, hope it finds a good home.  Let me know if you need more pictures.
