c1870 The Works Of Flavius Josephus Antiquarian Jewish History Book

The book contains no title page. It is quite apparent what the book is thanks to spine "Josephus's Works" but please be mindful when purchasing - priced accordingly.

(Presumed)The Works Of Flavius Josephus (The Learned And Authentic Jewish Historian, And Celebrated Warrior)
Publisher Unknown - c1870 (There is a feint outline of an inscription dated 1870)
Printer Milner and Sowerby Printers, Cheapside, Halifax

"Flavius Josephus (c. AD 37 – c. 100) was a Roman–Jewish historian and military leader. Best known for writing The Jewish War, he was born in Jerusalem—then part of the Roman province of Judea—to a father of priestly descent and a mother who claimed royal ancestry."

The covers and spine, whilst rubbed, scuffed and worn, have a beautiful patina and present exceptionally well. Shame about the missing title page but let that not detract from the intrinsic value this book retains with 99.99999% of content present. There are a few age marks to pages near prelims however most pages are clean. Inside hinges with splits otherwise binding in good order. The odd age spot here and there, minor tear, crease etc. This is a great looking copy of Josephus's Works, available at a significantly reduced price due to the absent page. Please study photos to further understand condition.
