This auction is for a very desirable circa 1864 Constitution Bitters from Buffalo, NY. It is embossed as follows: “A.M.S. 2 / 1864 - Constitution /Bitters - A.M.S.2 / 1864 - Seward & Bentley / Buffalo, N.Y.”. It is 9 1/8” tall with an applied tapered top and is a very nice rich honey amber with hints of olive coloration. This rich coloration is much nicer than the typical amber these are often seen in. It’s in about mint condition with a few tiny areas of easily removable dirt/stain mentioned for complete accuracy. Also, there is one in -making defect. While who could say with certainty, all indications say this flaw is in making. On one panel edge, as pictured in pix#’s 7 and 8, some glass extruded from the mold and within that extrusion, on that edge there is a clean shallow divot- shaped chip or absence of glass. There is no evidence of impact or iridescence. While no selling point, this flaw is inconsequential and has no effect on display. The rest of the bottle is flawless, even the base exhibiting next to no wear. Lots of whittle plenty of bubbles and a nice bird swing. A truly lovely piece that displays wonderfully. The bottle has been well-preserved and is in excellent shape, making it a great display piece. This piece is listed as Ring/Ham 223. A very nice addition. Money back guarantee, no questions.
