This auction offers a beautiful mid 1800’s apothecary bottle which is approximately 1 quart in volume. It is squatty in cylindrical form and stands 9” high and is open bottled. As you can see in the pictures, it appears in a lovely light lime green coloration. It is embossed as follows “Henshaw Ward & Co. / Druggists/ Boston ” . Wonderfully, it is in mint condition and is full of character. It is very crude lots of whittle, some slag embedded in the glass, and many bubbles. The top on this is really nice: it has a perfect applied double tapered top. Also, it exhibits a nice open pontil mark within a moderately pushed up kick up on the base. A tiny bit of base wear. Likely manufactured sometime between 1840 and 1855 would be my best guess. I don’t know a lot about these apothecary bottles but they are really nice. No chips, cracks bruises heavy scratches or any other damage to note. Just a fine fine example of a rare Boston medicine. Return privilege guaranteed no questions asked.
