Rare early Leica I Model A "Hockey Stick" film camera with low 5-digit serial number 20724, made in 1929. This is a close focus version with distance scale in feet (focusing down to 1.5ft or 50cm).

The camera shutter winds and fires at all speeds, sounds accurate. The curtains are in good shape. Viewfinder is clear. The bottom plate is stiff, I could not open it by hand and did not want to force it. The lens is clean and clear with no scratches, no fungus, no noticeable haze (maybe very light one). Aperture opens and closes normally, focusing ring rotates easily.

Cosmetically there is lots of brassing but no serious scratches or dents. The vulcanite has cracks on it but no missing parts.

It comes in original early Leica case (ESNEL?) that is fully intact with some normal signs of use.
