British Navies in the Second World War,” by Admiral Sir W. M. James, G.C.B., - Admiral Sir William
Milbourne James, GCB (1881–1973) - illustrated with 22 fold-out maps/battle plans
in two/three colours.
It was published
by Longmans, Green and Co., of London, and is the 1947 second impression of the
1946 FIRST EDITION.
Admiral Sir William Milbourne James, GCB (1881–1973) was a British naval commander,
politician and author. He served in the Royal Navy from the early
20th century to the Second World War. He served as a full admiral
from 1938.
The book measures 8.75
inches x 5.75 inches and has 255 pages + maps/plans.
The book is in
good, internally neat condition for its age, with minor wear/bumps and is a
little grubby/faded to the original cloth hardback cover, with a previous
owner’s name/signature at the front, light foxing to the rims, and no other ink
or pencil markings in the book. The binding is good with no loose or missing
pages. There is no dust-jacket.
