This sale is for a vintage hardback FIRST EDITION entitled “King Arthur of Britain,” subtitled “From Sir Thomas Malory’s Morte D’Arthur,” arranged by Brian Kennedy Cooke and a frontispiece and another plate illuminated in COLOUR in the style of early English miniatures – intricate colour plates by Anthony Rado.

 

It was published by Edmund Ward, of Leicester, and is the 1946 FIRST EDITION (stated) in this form.

 

This was the first of a series of four volumes of selections from Malory by Cooke.

The book measures 7.5 inches x 5 inches and has 140 pages. 

 

The book is in good, neat condition for its age, with minor wear/bumps and is a little grubby to the original cloth hardback cover, with a little foxing to the blank endpapers. There are NO inscriptions/book-plates and NO other ink or pencil markings in the book. The binding is good with no loose or missing pages.  There is no dust-jacket.
