The Webley
12 inch
Desk Fan.
This four blade "The Webley" 12 inch desk fan by "Webley & Scott Ltd" of "Birmingham, England" is in "as found" condition.
It has a heavy, stylish, metallic cast metal body, base, cage, blades and fins.
At some point the base, cradle, cage and fins has been repainted with silver paint this does come off when rubbed, the motor housing has been repainted in red and the blades in blue.
The paint has chips, marks, scuffs and scratches.
There are no splits or cracks to the cast body, four fan blades , movable horizontal fins or cage, that I can find.
The back of the body has an applied plaque the technical details and the serial number, "836".
The back of the motor housing is embossed with the manufacturers details.
I have tried to show the condition in the photographs.
The on/off switch is present and works as it should.
The fan works well when switched on, the motor is quiet, the fan blades rotate at a good speed and the horizontal fins move from side to side altering the direction of the air.
The wiring appears to be original and feels quite fragile.
It is sold as a "collectable item" and if being bought to use, I will need to be checked and refurbished by a qualified electrician or engineer before use.
The fan measures 43 cm (17 inches) to the top of the cage.
This would be ideal for spares or repair.
